A sewer lining project to renew some 3.3 kilometres of 750mm nominal diameter sewer submain in dense bushland has presented Interflow with its share of challenges.
Installation of the Expanda Pipe liner is being carried out even though the nearest vehicles can’t come closer than 300 metres from the manholes. Tracks and temporary bridges have needed to be established to allow equipment and materials to reach the site. The plastic strip for the Expanda Pipe spiral wound liner needs to be run through the bush from the truck.
Another hazard affecting progress has been flooding, where the creek can rise rapidly if there is rain in the catchment
Despite these difficulties, installation of Expanda Pipe is proceeding, with close attention given to the environmental challenges the site presents.
