Hello everyone and welcome to my first Freeflow as Managing Director and the first Freeflow of 2022. I hope it’s not too late to wish you all a Happy New Year!
2022 promises to be an exciting year. Most of our regions are now relaxing their COVID-19 restrictions and allowing interstate and international movement, in effect providing a feeling of normality again. Through your hard work and resilience, we are well-placed as a company to move forward as these changes begin to take effect.
The last two years have provided us with unique experiences from which we have learnt a lot, not least of which has been our ability as a company to flex and adapt to the challenges that arose throughout the pandemic. I believe we can positively apply these learnings to other areas of our business as new opportunities emerge in our marketplace. You can read more about how our teams adapted to changing situations in our first story.
One of my first actions for the year is to get out and about amongst our field crews and take advantage of the relaxation of travel restrictions to visit our team members in other states. This will enable me to reconnect with many of you which I am really looking forward to.
Our first Above the Water Line session commenced last week in Scoresby. These interactive team sessions will provide further information about Our Interflow, our vision and our values and behaviours. I encourage all of you to commit to these sessions and gain clarity and alignment on the growth plan that we have as an organisation. All of us will have the opportunity to attend one of these sessions across the business – you can read more in our Freeflow stories.
Next week is International Women’s Day. Each year on March 8, people across the world come together to celebrate the achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality and inclusion.
At Interflow we are focused on creating an inclusive environment where all our people can be their best. We have many talented women in our business today, and IWD is an opportunity for us to celebrate their contribution. You’ll learn more about how we plan to recognise this event over the coming days.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge the great work and legacy of my father over his 30-year tenure as Managing Director. With his help and guidance, I am confident that we shall continue where he left off. Of course, Geoff is still very much part of the business in his new role as Chair of the Board.
So welcome back to you all, and here’s to a successful 2022!
