Our Queensland Team Under The Bright Lights

Our Queensland team has successfully used our Interline UV cured-in-place pipe technology for the first time.
The team has been working hard to solve its customer’s problems for Downer, who had strict requirements to minimise the impact on the pipe’s capacity on several carrier pipes in its latest work package.
The UV lining method utilises a thinner material compared to our spiral wound solutions, which better suited Downer’s requirements of maintaining as much capacity in the pipe as possible.
The team borrowed a unique fitted out container from Sydney, which has a specialised computer to control the light train through the pipe as it cures resin using UV light.
Project Manager, Russell Nielsen, said the crew was a little apprehensive at first, but quickly became comfortable with the equipment after some practice runs during the recent extreme wet weather.
“During the recent flood event in Brisbane, we capitalised on our time at the depot by practising using the equipment,” Russell said.
“UV relining in some situations can be faster than conventional methods, lessening the community impact in built-up areas.”
The successful introduction of a UV relining option has solidified our position as a partner of choice in Queensland, offering a full suite of products.
