Regency Road is one of Adelaide’s busy arterial roads, with average traffic volume of more than 38,000 vehicles per day.
Back in February 2021 as part of our minor framework contract, we were awarded the rehabilitation of 1,034 meters of DN1300 trunkmain, located at a depth of 4 meters under Regency Road. Our proposal was to reline this trunk main using our Rotaloc machine with 91-37 Rotaloc profile.
12 months of project planning, meetings with businesses, and residential stakeholder engagement were required for the successful delivery of this project.
There were several challenges in the planning and delivery of this project throughout which our team displayed our core values.

Two weeks prior to works starting, our client informed us that they couldn’t provide us with the flow diversion that was being planned and had been agreed over the past 12 months. Finally, however, after three weeks of discussions with our customer, a new plan was agreed and implemented to commence relining works.
The bottom 400-500mm of pipe was also blocked with dirt, grime, silt, asphalt, and other waste types. A total of 244 tonnes of waste was removed from the trunk main to prepare for relining.
Congrats to our amazing teams on adapting to challenges and solving our customer’s problems.
