Getting ‘culvert creative’ in Brisbane!

Our true nature of solving problems, no matter how large or small, was demonstrated in an exceptionally complex culvert project for Brisbane City Council. Working within an incredibly tight timeframe, our QLD team rallied together to develop a culvert tailored solution in a particularly sensitive environment.
Nestled under the bustling Brisbane Corso, a culvert was in urgent need of rehabilitation. Given the area’s heavy vehicle traffic volumes, as well as the critical role the culvert played in providing outlets to the Brisbane River, a bespoke solution was developed.
Our Teams put their ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking hats on and got to work. Partnering with SASTTI, we used custom-built Channeline composite GRP sections to renew the culvert’s large diameter. This allowed crew members to deliver project works around tidal movements, which avoided the costly construction of an interim coffer dam.
This project was completed to an exceptional standard and illustrated our innovative approach through collaborative partnerships.
Congratulations to the SEQ delivery team, who continue to shine for our customers: you have now created a best-practice solution that can be applied to deteriorated culverts throughout Brisbane!
