Achieving Together through tough times

Throughout the pandemic, we’ve all had to make adjustments in our personal lives and at work. It has been a tough and challenging time for all, particularly as many of us had hopes of a return to normal in 2022.
Omicron brought with it more cases and resulting isolation across our business greater than we had previously experienced. Our field crews have been heavily impacted as crew numbers and schedules were thrown into uncertainty.
As with many of the challenges we face, our people continue to show how flexible, adaptable they are, and that they’re willing to work and Achieve Together to get the job done.
One example is when two of a Queensland crew contracted COVID-19 while working away from home in Northern NSW. This had the potential to stop the critical job they were working on, but they were willing to adapt to the changing situation. At very short notice, schedules were re-drawn and two new crew members were brought in from another location to ensure that work could continue.
In NSW, we had a Foreman who was required to isolate and couldn’t attend his work site in person. Instead, he showed great initiative and came up with a way contribute to his project from home – by acting as pump operator remotely!
There are many more examples across the company, and together they show how our people are adapting to the challenges that the pandemic has presented. Thank you to everyone who Achieved Together and worked to find a solution.
