A Modern Twist on Ancient Techniques

We exist to solve our customers’ problems and continually challenge the status quo. Sometimes this involves bringing ancient techniques into the modern era!
Close timbering is an ancient and specialist technique which very few contractors can offer today.
On a recent project for Sydney Water, proximity to buildings and many underground services (electricity, gas, phone, NBN) made the use of a hydraulic excavator and steel trench supports unsuitable. Our team decided to take a different approach, instead performing the excavation by hand using close timbering to stop the excavation collapsing while sewer main repairs commenced.
Our Market Development Manager, John Weaver explains, “Supporting the walls of any excavation is essential to make sure our workers are safe.”
Congratulations to everyone involved in this project. We’re proud to have strong brand ambassadors in the field who endeavour to challenge the status quo and solve our customers’ problems!
