December 2011: Interflow Group acquires Infratec International Pty Ltd.
The Interflow group has acquired a significant interest in Victorian based company Infratec International Pty Ltd. Infratec is a company that specialises in water pipe renewals and has provided services to many of the major Victorian Water Authorities.
Infratec has been servicing this market for the past 10 years and currently employs approximately 90 people. Infratec will continue to service its existing customer base and together with the Interflow group will look at ways to exploit the synergies of the two companies.
November 2011: Interflow celebrates 75 years.
The month of November sees Interflow celebrate 75 years in the pipeline industry. During this time many things have changed but Interflow’s core values of honesty, reliability and competency have remained steadfast.
The loyalty and ability of the people of this great business have always been the basis of the company’s success and together, we can look forward to the challenges of the future with excitement and enthusiasm, knowing that our foundation blocks are solid, thanks to the legacies left by our predecessors.
October 2011: Interflow installs large CIPP ovoid liner at sensitive beach location.
Interflow has performed its largest cross section CIPP liner installation at a very sensitive location in the Hunter Region of NSW. Interflow installed a 1300mm x 1000mm ovoid CIPP liner inside an Emergency Relief Structure (ERS) along the foreshore of a prominent Newcastle beach.
The pipeline included a 45 degree bend near the start of the 100m rehabilitated section and the works were carried out adjacent to the open ocean baths. In addition to the CIPP installation, cleaning of the partially blocked pipeline was undertaken using one of Interflow's Super 3000 recycling units positioned at the top of a nearby cliff face. Despite the complicated nature of the project, Interflow completed the works within the allocated timeframe.
September 2011: Interflow wins another 2011 CCF Earth Award.
Interflow has won the Civil Contractors Federation, Queensland Division, 2011 Earth Award for the “Nudgee Road Emergency Sewer Rehabilitation Works”.
The challenges faced as a result of the emergency ranged from developing techniques to remove silt and rubble from a 20 metre deep sewer to producing a structural liner for the 1600mm pipe whilst maintaining the live flow, working around the clock and at all times minimising the disruption to traffic, local resident and surrounding businesses.
This Project together with the Commercial Road project in SA, will be listed as a National Finalist in the “Australian Earth Awards” to be held on the Gold Coast in October, so stay tuned!
August 2011: Interflow wins 2011 CCF Earth Award in SA.
Interflow has won the Civil Contractors Federation, South Australian Division, 2011 Earth Award for the “Rehabilitation of the Oviform Pipeline – Commercial Road, Port Adelaide”.
The winning of this award represents a significant milestone for our recently established CIPP Operation and our South Australian Division.
This Project is also listed as a National Finalist in the “Australian Earth Awards”.
July 2011: Interflow a founding sponsor for Sydney WaterAid Ball
We are delighted to be one of the founding sponsors of the very first Sydney WaterAid Ball to be held on Saturday 3 September, 2011. This gala, black tie evening will be at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay and feature gourmet food from Matt Moran of ARIA restaurant with former Wallaby, sports journalist and author Peter FitzSimons as MC.
The night will bring people together from across the water, infrastructure and engineering sectors to raise money for WaterAid – helping the world’s poorest communities get access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.
We hope to see you there!

June 2011: Hydraulic milling machine means better concrete removal
Interflow has acquired its own powerful hydraulic milling machine. The unit has a 5kW capacity motor, much higher than conventional electric or pneumatic milling machines.
The greater productivity and performance of the hydraulic milling machine allows water asset managers to carry out difficult pipe remediation works such as concrete removal at a much quicker rate leading to more pipelines being treated.
May 2011: Interflow expands its pipe renewal capabilities
Interflow has incorporated pipe bursting into its product portfolio. Interflow can now offer its clients three very distinct alternatives for pipe renewal works, namely spirally wound pipe, CIPP and now pipe bursting. Each option has its own place in the market and Interflow is in the best position to tailor the correct product for its clients’ specific needs.
Interflow has already completed pipe bursting projects throughout Australia and the experience gained has enabled Interflow to enhance its standing as the one stop shop for pipe renewal.
November 2010: Interflow wins International Award in Singapore
Interflow has won the International Society of Trenchless Technology (ISTT) Project of the Year Award 2010 for the North Georges River Submain (NGRS) Sewer Rehabilitaton Project. In the course of completing the project Interflow produced the worlds largest and longest spiral wound pipe.
This was the first time that an Australian pipeline contractor has won this prestigious award. The award was presented at the ISTT No-Dig Gala Dinner night in Singapore on November 9th.

October 2010: Interflow wins ASTT Project of the Year 2010
For the third consecutive year Interflow has been awarded the Australian Society of Trenchless Technology (ASTT) Project of the Year. The rehabilitation of a 3.3m diameter Siphon near Bendigo, VIC required Interflow to produce not only the largest spiral wound pipe ever made in Australia but one that could also negotiate the siphon's sharp 15° bends.
The Award was presented at Trenchless Live in Coffs Harbour, NSW on October 19th.
August 2010: Race against time to renew a 3.3m diameter siphon near Bendigo, Victoria
Interflow has overcome a major set of engineering challenges to successfully rehabilitate a 3.3metre diameter concrete irrigation siphon 31.5m long within a very tight time frame near Bendigo, Victoria.
To achieve this feat Interflow had to not only produce the largest spirally wound pipe ever made in Australia but also use an innovative method of making the liner negotiate the sharp bends in the siphon.

July 2010: Relining the sewers of Barraba, near Tamworth, in regional NSW
Interflow has been awarded a contract to reline the entire sewer network of the town of Barraba near Tamworth, NSW. Work commenced on the sewer relining project in June 2010 and involves relining a total of 8.5km of sewer mains. Interflow will use Expanda to reline the towns sewers. The project is on track for completion by end of August 2010.

June 2010: Battling the cold to complete a $1.6million sewer contract in Dunedin
Interflow has endured working in below freezing conditions whilst carrying out a major sewer rehabiliation contract in Dunedin on New Zealand's South Island.
The relining work was done with Expanda. To deal with the extremely cold conditions Interflow fabricated a thermal cover and support frame to keep the spool of Expanda PVC profile at 15°C whilst it was on the truck and used a heater for warming the profile up as it was being fed into the winding machine.

May 2010: Interflow renews egg shaped sewer in Adelaide
Interflow has successfully renewed in total 484 metres of 525mm x 350mm egg shaped sewer and reinstated a total of 28 junctions as part of a sewer rehabilitation contract in Adelaide. This was the first time that Interflow had relined an egg shaped pipe of this size. The project was made all the more challenging because the concrete egg shaped sewer runs below a busy arterial road. To minimise disruption to the local community and road users Interflow's crews worked over successive shifts on weekends and at night to complete the relining project.
Feb 2010: World's largest spiral wound pipe exhibit opens at Powerhouse Museum, Sydney
The world's largest spirally wound pipe, which was produced by Interflow as part of the NGRS sewer rehabilitation project, has been recognised for its engineering excellence and innovative design by being selected for display by the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney.
Interflow's interactive display features a video presentation of the NGRS rehabilitation project and the technology used in producing the world's largest spiral wound pipe. The display is open to the public until January 2011.
